Michael remained with the London based firm for 7 years before being offered the position of Head of European Strategy in 1997 where he worked alongside Donald Peterson.

In 2008 the PetersonBrown Group was born, initially the first office was set up in St Albans (England) before expanding to Beijing and soon after Tokyo.

“I have to admit I am very fortunate to be able to work and live in such beautiful and vibrant cities, if someone had told me in 1983 that I would have my own company based in Beijing or Tokyo I would have said they were crazy.”

“To be able to work with private, individual and family investors is a dream come true. I have spent most of my working life dealing with large corporations and it is truly a breath of fresh air to deal with the people that matter most… families.”

Donald Peterson, Co-founder and Head of Institutional Equities, Sales, Trading and Research

Donald Peterson was born on 10 January 1950 in Johannesburg, South Africa. His family emigrated to the United Kingdom when he was only 5 years old. He attended a private school close to his family home in Windsor before graduating with honours from Magdalen College Oxford in 1972.

Donald worked for JP Morgan Chase & Co. in London, Hong Kong and mainland Europe. He was an economic advisor to some of the top companies in these areas for more than thirty years.

Donald started the PetersonBrown Group of companies in 2008 with his long-time friend Mike Brown and continues to head the institutional trading desk to this day.

“It takes 20 years to build a reputation and five minutes to ruin it. If you think about that, you’ll do things differently.”
